Philodendron ‘Florida Green’ is a bold and exotic hybrid from the Araceae family, renowned for its deeply lobed leaves and vigorous climbing habit. Believed to be a cross between Philodendron squamiferum and Philodendron pedatum, this tropical aroid showcases the best of both parents — sculptural foliage, elegant growth, and ease of care.

The plant’s glossy, green leaves are deeply divided into multiple lobes, with a unique shape that evolves as the plant matures. Juvenile leaves are smaller and simpler, while mature ones become larger, more intricate, and deeply lobed, creating a dramatic, architectural look. Its slender petioles support each leaf on a vining stem that climbs readily with the help of aerial roots.

When given vertical support such as a moss pole or climbing board, Philodendron ‘Florida Green’ develops impressive leaves up to 30–45 cm long, making it an outstanding statement piece in tropical plant collections or interior spaces.

Philodendron ‘Florida Green’ – Care Guide

Light

Thrives in bright, indirect light. Too little light will slow growth and reduce leaf size, while harsh direct sunlight can scorch the glossy foliage.

Watering

Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Temperature: Prefers warmth, 18–28°C. Protect from draughts and cold below 15°C.

  • Humidity: Moderate to high humidity (60–80%) encourages lush growth and prevents browning leaf edges.

Soil and Potting

Use a chunky, free-draining aroid mix – peat-free compost enriched with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir is ideal. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the mix and allow for root expansion.

Feeding

Feed every 2–3 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Stop feeding in autumn and winter.

Pruning and Maintenance

Prune lightly to manage size and encourage branching. Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base. Train onto a moss pole or trellis to support vertical growth and maximise leaf size.

Growth and Maturity

A fast-growing climber, capable of reaching 1–2 metres indoors. With good care, leaves become larger and more deeply lobed with maturity.

Common Issues

  • Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.

  • Leggy growth: Insufficient light.

  • Brown tips: Low humidity.

  • Pests: Occasionally thrips, mealybugs, or spider mites.

Do not waste your money
Color: Large size (ø 7.4")
Not for aggressive dogs. I thought this was good for the money it’s not. My dog chewed this up in less than a minute. Not too happy

It's A Beast - But It'll Last Forever
Color: Large size (ø 7.4")
This big orange interactive dog toy does a few things differently—and mostly, it does them right. First, there are no batteries and no charging required. The internal noise maker is activated by movement, producing little squeaks and quacks that grab a dog’s attention without turning into an electronic science experiment. Second—and more importantly—this thing is built to last. It’s designed to work as both a ball and a tug toy, which means it’s far tougher than the typical interactive balls that get shredded in short order. I fully expect this one to stick around for a long time. That said, the reaction from my dogs was… mixed. All of them were a bit spooked at first. The sounds made them curious but cautious. My Border Collie was the first to commit and play with it, and she gave it a solid try. After a while, though, interest faded and the toy ended up sitting on the floor largely ignored. I can get them engaged if I roll it around and hype things up, but the two dogs that usually love tug-of-war haven’t latched onto this one yet. My guess is this toy will shine more outdoors. Once spring rolls around and it’s flying across the yard instead of the living room floor, I suspect it’ll get a lot more action. My dogs tend to burn energy—and enthusiasm—much faster outside. If you have a heavy chewer that destroys fragile interactive toys (and drains your wallet in the process), this is a very welcome alternative. Considering how quickly $35–$50 electronic balls can meet their end, this toy earns its place in the basket for durability alone.

Good for non chewers
Color: Large size (ø 7.4")
Dog lived it for the 4 minutes before he chewed a large hole in it. Definitely not for heavy chewers.

Received 39 minutes ago. Chewed up in tiny pieces already. Feels like hard plastic in a cheap car.
