Patek Philippe’s history has been driven by its discerning female clientele. One of the company’s earliest clients was a Madame Goscinska, who bought the first three watches Patek Philippe ever produced. Although meant to be worn on brooches or suspended from chains at the waist, these watches were remarkable for their exquisite construction, featuring enamel decorations surrounded by diamonds, and often containing complications like a keyless winding system.

Queen Victoria herself fell in love with one such watch at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851.

When Patek Philippe made its first wristwatches in the 1870s, they were not for men, but for women, who liked the practicality of a wrist-worn watch while engaged in sports like horseback riding. These watches were petite and stylish, and powered by movements so small that they could fit into a ring. To manufacture parts on such a scale requires mastery, which the watchmakers at Patek Philippe certainly possessed… and still do.

The Great Depression and the Second World War saw a shift toward watches for both men and women that were far removed, stylistically, from the bejeweled pendant watches that Queen Victoria so loved. However, they were no less elegant. The Reference 4310 featured here is exactly what we mean by this.

In 1968, Patek Philippe released the Golden Ellipse. Debuting a few years before the iconic Nautilus, the Ellipse—with its distinctive oval shape—was unlike anything else in Patek Philippe’s catalogs. A few years later, in 1976, the Golden Ellipse would be miniaturized with the Reference 4310.

The enigmatic black dial, devoid of any markings but the manufacture’s logo, hearkens back to the Museum Watch made by Movado. But the gold case, with its diamond-set sides, is classic Patek. The movement that powers it, the Calibre 15-250, is a worthy rival to any movement ever fitted into a man’s watch, adjusted to five positions.

With a beautiful 18k gold case and perfect proportions, this is a ladies’ timepiece that is worthy of the name Patek Philippe.

That ending 😫
Format: Kindle
I fell into a false sense of security and really thought this was gearing towards a happy ending. Then I realized there’s no work they don’t punish Andrew. I really liked Vale’s character. I don’t normally read books with pregnancy but going into this knowing she was pregnant made it more enjoyable for me. I loved Bishops devotion to her and her happiness. I also loved that Holt and Mercy couldn’t fight their attraction to her. I love scent matches so very much. I’m so curious to see how this duet will end up. And I need to pay more attention and notice that a book I’m starting is a duet to begin with lol

oh wow
Format: Kindle
I just knew there was something about Cooper! I’m wondering if he’s about to be included but damn I’m glad he’s at least not a rapist and creepy guy, he just got called on assignment and had to go! This should be interesting! She’s gonna run and then what’s his face is gonna grab her. I’m worried! Wow that was a great book and cliffhanger! Loving this!

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
